What is Cerec 3D?
The Cerec 3D restorative system is a multi-phase procedure that allows your dentist to produce life-like restorations of your teeth in a single office visit.
Developed 20 years ago, Cerec 3D is the result of continual technological advances culminating in a state of the art process that is simple, quick and economical. Dental restoration is brought into the 21st century with digitised imaging - a computer designed, 3-dimensional virtual model of your tooth - that is milled in minutes, in-house, from the highest quality ceramic blocs to create crowns, inlays, onlays and veneers for permanent restorations.
Patient comfort, cost and complete satisfaction are achieved through the use of the Cerec 3D system, which frees the patient from repeat visits to complete restoration treatments.
What's the process?
The single-visit process encompasses:
- Examination
Your tooth is checked and appropriate treatment determined. - Tooth Preparation
Anesthetic is administered and your tooth is prepared for the restoration. - Optical Impression
Non-toxic, titanium dioxide powder is applied and a digital image is taken. - Restoration Design
3D software converts the image to a 3 dimensional virtual model and your dentist designs your restoration on-screen, then sends the design data via wireless radio signal to the Milling Unit. - Restoration Milling
A high-quality, ceramic bloc, matching the shade of your tooth, is shaped within minutes into an exact replication of the restoration design. - Restoration Polish & Bonding
The restoration piece is polished and bonded into place.
The result
Your smile and dental health are restored with minimum discomfort and maximum effectiveness. Your restoration is a perfect fit, a perfect color match and made of the finest dental ceramics that closely match the natural composition of your tooth structure. This added advantage means your tooth and your restoration contract and expand nearly equally to sudden temperature changes - eating hot foods and drinking iced beverages, for example - ensuring that your tooth does not crack.
